Kratom Tea

The best method when making kratom tea is to first put about 2 oz. of water in a mug and get the water to around 185 degrees, which is less than boiling but still very hot. This is done by putting the mug in the microwave for 45 seconds. Add powdered kratom to hot water and stir it in gently. You'll notice that it won’t froth or foam as you combine the kratom with the hot water. Add a couple of drops of or a 1/4 teaspoon of lemon juice. Allow this to sit for 2-3 minutes. What’s happening here is that the hot water and the citric acid are extracting the alkaloids out of the kratom powder and making them more bioavailable. After letting the mixture sit 2-3 minutes, strain the kratom water mix through a fine tea strainer. Straining is optional, you’ll just be consuming some plant matter if you don’t strain it, which is harmless. The final step, add any tea of choice and a sweetener such as sugar or stevia to counteract the bitterness. Add honey and cream or your usual tea preferences.
